Red Lobsterboat
I went into work early this morning to get in three hours of overtime before heading of to the Saturday figure painting session. About 7:30, I stepped out of the shed to see how the day was progressing and the light and reflections on the harbor was just great--and I saw this scene. Of course--that just had to be painted! I just got done in time to get to make it to the figure session. The model didn't make it, though!
8"x10", oil on panel, 1 hour:

Re: Red Lobsterboat
Nice way to feature a red boat! I like the simplicity of your scene and the color of the water looks so natural!

Hi Ian,
Wow, I'm floored, what a great piece!
I wish I could see it in real life, to get to experience the luminosity that this piece has.
You Win!

Re: Red Lobsterboat
Thanks for the positive comments, everyone! I think the fact that the lobster-boat took off on me before I was done, and my tight schedule that morning, saved me from adding excessive detail.

I especially love the economy of brushstrokes. You were saved . . . wish we all had timers that would go off at this point!
