Wow!
Seems like my fishie has been resurrected from the darkened depths of page 4!
Thank you so much for your continued interest and encouragement for this piece. It is deeply appreciated.
And I know
someone was just itching to nudge me along with a little think music...
Dusan ~ I'm still very new with masking techniques, never thought I'd be applying them toward a colored pencil piece. I was fortunate enough with this piece that the tears (two very minor ones) were easy enough to cover with acrylic paint. The gold border shows the most flaws, probably because the tape was placed on the painted surface and there were some areas of bleed-through. Next time around I'll definitely use frisket. This is very much a learning piece for me, next time will be better.
As many of you know I've been participating in the colored pencil art swap so my attention these last few weeks has been on another subject. Also recently picked up a dog commission which I'll be focusing on once the deposit check arrives (cue the think music again...

). I should be finishing the art swap piece tonight (maybe an hour's worth of work left to do) and I may just find myself a small window of time to spend on the fishie.
But I do have a little progress to share, just so I'm not leaving you with three or four paragraphs of blah blah blah...

Thank you again!
