Hello everyone. I haven't posted in a long time and I also haven't painted in a long time. I'm definitely a little rusty. This is what I'm working on and I could use all of the advise I can get. So thanks for any help in advance. Oh yea, I was watching tv and paused it to take a picture of this lighthouse scene. In the actual photo it's daytime, but I like it better with the night time scenery. Not to sure about the water so please help with any advise. I took the picture with my cell phone, but it still came out okay.

this is a beautiful painting......i thought myself to draw by watching tv and sketching at the same time so i think its cool u did this !.......the only advice i have to give is maybe dont make the sky so busy as it conflicts with the upper half of the water .....hope this helps and i love the painting

Charming painting and well done. My only reservation is the moon with its halo of light.... it seems to me to draw attention away from the lighthouse and the beautiful ocean. Thanks for sharing, it is a beautiful composition rather it is done as a night or daytime scene.

'Watch out for that Rock'. Only joking, I tend to have pretty whacky titles to my work. I think you have done a super job on the water. There are some great colours in it. I think the rings around the moon could be removed - makes it look a little like Saturn. Just the soft focus moon is enough. I am so pleased you are painting again. Keep them coming.

I have discovered the name of this lighthouse. It is called 'Pigeon Point Lighthouse' and it's off the California coast. I had to do some searching online to find the name. When I took the picture I was watching television and was able to just pause the channel to get it. You have to love modern technology. Since I live in California I will make it a point to see this lighthouse and paint it in person one day. I have been wanting to do some plain air painting.
