WIP - K-9 Havoc

Hello Everyone

Thought I would share a new WIP....this is Officer Havoc, he is the partner of my friend Officer Joe Papsedero of Burlington Mass...Joe gave me permission to use a photo of his wonderful and handsome Partner....I started him while trying to finish up my ocelot but got inspired to mainly work on Havoc instead.

I am using Faber Castell Polychrome color pencil and pen and ink on Bristol Board

hope u all like him

C&C welcome ;-)

Re: WIP - K-9 Havoc

This is fabulous! the graphic work is great and I can just make out your sketch of Havoc which I have to say looks excellent.

I feel this is going to not only be a great tribute to Officer Havoc and the work he does with his partner but a nod towards ALL Police dogs .

I can't wait to see more

Great job with all the lettering! (I deplore doing lettering, and admire others who do it well). Look forward to seeing the dog.

Love this! Nice, strong type to set off that beautiful, yet tough, dog!!

Cannot wait to see you create "Havoc." Get it? LOL! Sorry...couldn't resist.

Re: WIP - K-9 Havoc

I use indigo blue, dark green and Tuscan red to create black. Sometimes I go over that with violet and black - at the later stages. Just keep in mind that plain black is flat. It needs other colors to be rich and full looking.

Thank you sooo much for the advice....I will have to keep that in mind for the next time I do a black colored animal...I will stick with the browns and sepia for this one and see how he goes ;-)
