New Canvas Options

Do you like the feel of painting on canvas but want something a little different from the usual panels and stretched canvases? Are you looking for a new way to use your artistic flair to decorate your home? Some new canvas products are now available that give you more options to express yourself!

Covered boxes have long been a staple in the decorator’s selection of trendy products. Blick Studio Canvas Boxes are a new twist. The first quality gessoed canvas bonded to sturdy cardboard will accept a variety of paints and media. You can paint them to go with any color scheme or décor. Fast drying media such as alkyds, acrylics, casein and acrylic gouache allow the project to be finished and on display in a couple of painting sessions. Younger designers can use markers, glitter glue and other age appropriate media. The boxes are sturdy enough for mixed media and collage style decorating also. Beads, acrylic gems, ribbon, lace and other trim make great embellishments and offer a great way to coordinate with your décor! As seasons change they can be painted with different colors and designs to reflect the mood or taste of you -the designer!

Available in sizes from 4”X4” up to 16”x20” These adhesive backed real artists canvas pieces have a double coated priming that will let you paint them with a variety of paints such as alkyd, acrylic or tempera or other media such as markers or oil paint sticks . Once the paint is dry, simply peel off the protective backing and apply! The repositionable adhesive allows you to try placing the finished piece in several spots before deciding where it looks best. The canvas pieces can also be mounted to a backing board and framed for long term display.

The Lyons Stick-On Canvas sheets can be cut into any shape you like with scissors, so you can go beyond a simple image by grouping painted cut-outs or use painted strips and pieces as borders or to add decorative accents to almost anything.
