Artists on location Knoxville, Tennessee

I usually hang out on the Watercolor forum but I thought I would come over here to let you all know about a plein air event in Knoxville.
You can Google Knoxville Museum of Art to find out the details.
There is a demostration by Lori Putnam on May 31. Then artists choose a location in Knoxville to paint Plein Air, they have two days June 1 & 2 to complete the plein air paintings then the paintings are Checked into the museum by 5 pm Tuesday June 2. Paintings must be ready to hang.
The exhibit opens at 7 pm June 2 and the awards ceremony is at 7:30 pm.
Artists may have one studio painting entered.
Artists must register by April 30. There is a $25.00 entry fee. Artists must also agree to a 60/40 ratio for the sale of the works.
There is a form to complete,And more info located thru the KMA website.

I am not affiliated with KMA in any way. I found this while searching online for a plein air group in East Tennessee that I could join.

Hope to see some wet canvas people there.

Thanks Saint. I live in Memphis, 6 or 7 hour drive from Knoxville, but still within range.

I will check it out.

Wish I could be there! Maybe the Hunter Museum in Chattanooga will be inspired to do their own version of this event.

Will certainly check this out.

Life is good

The Memphis Brooks Museum of Art has something similar
in mind, but it's not been planned yet...

Artistinmemphis,
Do you know if there is a plein aire group in Knoxville? I would really
Ike to find a few people to sketch and paint with, i know if there is a group I wil be more likely to get put and do something, safety in numbers too for us females painting in lonely places.
If I cant find an established group I am going to post a flyer at the Knoxville Jerrys artarama and try to get one started.

Saint,
Call the Knoxville Museum of Art, and ask for Mike, who is coordinating the paint out, ask him if he knows of a group.

Also check out the Chestnut Group, which is a group of painters for preserving land areas: there's a link part way down this link, ask if there are any members in Knoxville: http://chestnutgroup.org/about-the-chestnut-group/
