Charly, wonderful already! Where are you from? Don't see many Belgian people around here
Framan, I really like the fish! The colours are beautiful!
Graham, I have no words for your painting
Thanks for all the nice comments on my Queen ^^She's done now, I'm really happy how she turned out!
Colours are, again, a bit off.

And no, it's not a commission Unfortunately, I'm no Lucian Freud I made this for a competion.
Now this one's on my donkey (I'm in a funny mood!):

She's related somehow to my previous work. Anyone who can guess why?
Oh yeah, the last layer is all done with a number 14 brush. Loved the experiment! Now I can work at some detail.

Re: What's On Your Easel?....April 2012
wow, all of the work this month is incredible!!
Here is the 8X10 I am doing for the silent auction at the benefit for my friend.I think it is almost done. Let me know if it needs anything. It is small, so I didn't want to add too much.

Jules, very nice, I don't see a thing I would change.

That silhouette looks amazing Jules, and I love the sky.
The 1 thing I would suggest, is to add a kickstand, since there is no one on the bike but either way it looks amazing.

Re: What's On Your Easel?....April 2012
Kory, thanks, I had thought that also. I still have a couple of things to fix, like the part between the headlight and the gas tank should be thicker. I appreciate you confirming the kickstand should be added.

Re: What's On Your Easel?....April 2012
We all spent the last couple of days at the coast, so I was able to try my hand at some plein air again, first time since October last year. Luckily I have a generous wife who doesn't mind me spending time completely self-absorbed in splashing paint around...
If nothing else the experience has reminded me how the sand gets everywhere when painting on a windy beach, and just how difficult it is to translate the picture I can visualise into what finally appears on the board. Lots more practice needed.
Anyway, these are all oils, 8 x 10. First one is beach huts at West Wittering, second is the harbour at Itchenor, last is a random field (I wanted to pick a simple subject that I had perhaps a better chance of doing justice to).
Comments and criticism very welcome, as ever. Thanks.

Re: What's On Your Easel?....April 2012
Nice work everyone!
I'm almost done with this one, just some leaves and final tuning. There was a query in the last forum about the size of this painting. Sorry for my very late reply, I overlooked it! It's 50 x 70 cm.
I'll finish up on this one this weekend and then post it in the open critique forum.

SO TRUE. My mind is a much better artist than I am! Don't know why my muscles don't listen to my mind.
