Re: What's On Your Easel?....April 2012
Graham, I see what you mean about the edge of the car being rounded. It looks like it's supposed to! Excellent!!!!
This is what is on my easel right now LOL. It's VERY different for me. I was trying to paint a whimsical fish for a local restaurant. I guess I don't do whimsical. The fish itself (a pajama cardinal fish, yes they look like that) is whimsical, but my painting isn't LOL. I probably should have painted it more flat and smooth. Not sure....
It's 24 x 36, started and finished today (also quite unusual...)

I think it looks whimsical, and wow, you whipped that out fast!

Thanks everyone! I haven't taken it to the restaurant yet Brenda. I'll let it dry a bit first. It was a lot of fun to paint for sure.

Re: What's On Your Easel?....April 2012
So, I worked on it a bit tonight. Added some light and refined some edges... Also glazed in shadows with a coat of black mixed with lots of thinner lol... Normally I would just make it darker at first and then add light later, but this time I did it backward.
If it cracks due to lean on fat, it will look even more like brick walls I guess lol..
I will keep posting progress throughout April, its probably gonna take the whole month due to being at work most of the time.

Kory, I like the coloring you've added. Really brings the scene to life! Love it!

Re: What's On Your Easel?....April 2012
Lovely paintings this month. I did this plein air yesterday at my friend's house. She has a nice little place out in the country and I had been wanting to paint a redbud tree before they turn green!
