here is todays simple one ..with the foreground done very light (is that a no no in art circles,) to make the rest a bit of a punch /and I popped the light tree under the dark one (an old trick )its sumut out of nowt as we say ,, take care

Alan sometimes I think that "art circles' lay down unnecessary do's and don'ts that worry the heck out of the newbie painter

with todays one ,,it is very much the same ,but I have opened up the large tree

when I am not able to continue .maybe someone could open a done in twenty minutes sketch thread .

that is so nice of you to say ,,, here is todays quick sketch ,dont they say "paint with speed but not with haste ///I do hope these inspire you with ideas when the painters block occurs ..and you will be able to improve on them .I do them to quickly .,to study my mistakes ,

the last two are on (9"x7") no choice my paper is getting low.so cut it in half .handy for the sketches though .and using smaller brushes take care every one

.just to show how adding a couple of very distant,, hardly distinguishable cottages ,in the far distance helps with perspective ..on a piece of 9x7 140lbs

now for a cuppa tea ..

sorry I was lost for a subject this morning ,,so I decided to practice my trees (not again I hear)
well the shapes//////ah well//I do think trees are a challenge ..and yes one
could use a stippling brush and dab in a million leaves ,but after so many years of painting.watercolours .and painting every leaf ,,and my time left being short ,,well sorry folks .I dont have the time or the inclination to do so.

here is an old one for today ,I was thinking back today in 1948 when as a boy I was asked to go painting with an artist .I could not have been much good but he said.. the reason I ask you out with me .is because you are not scared of colours .. like I am.. he was a terific artist ..,and I can close my eyes and still see his wonderful paintings ,,,
