These are amazing! They inspire me, as I am a beginner at painting and it helps to see something like this and note the palettes, values, etc. that you used. Thanks for sharing!!

very good, and so commendable to stick at this, where do you find all your willing sitters? No 1 looks very elegant and strog. Striking eyes in no 3. Like the light on no 5. All good, tho, I think no 4 and no 6 look like they could do with a bit of feedin' up

Re: The Portrait Group 2012

Sorry I havened replied to the comments for a while, the weekly portrait group has folded so I’ve only got the monthly one now.

Hi Patricia, glad you liked the portraits, WC is a great place to share your work I’ve learnt so much from the feedback over the years, hope we will see your work some time

The models are all locale people Scattykat, some are personal friends but a lot are just people I meet and ask if they will sit. The one group was close to the library and I would often go in there and ask for volunteers

Ha No4 Jeanne, yes she was a very good model, sat very quietly

No10 This is Rosy, the daughter of a friend.

Re: The Portrait Group 2012

Hi Lily, nice to hear from you, I get told off by the group if I bring in to many good looking models despite that last night I booked the extremely good looking Helen

Re: The Portrait Group 2012

Thanks for looking in Irwin and taking the time to comment, clever use of the smileies there
Last night I had a male model booked but he cancelled at the last moment due to illness so the Ginger Lady stepped in

My favorite is number 2. Contemplative expression was nicely captured. Well done.
