Re: Monthly PEN & INK Project -- April, 2012
Thank you,Val, for the lovely reference photo's. There are really some very nice entries already, and love the additions of paint/ watercolurs/ washes/ pastels to the final product, well done everyone! I don't quite know which one to choose myself and whether I'll have time is another question.
Happy painting,
Charri

Thanks guys! I forgot to mention that the reference photo of the zebras
was by oldrockchick.
I love all the pen work done from these reference pics. Very inspiring!

Re: Monthly PEN & INK Project -- April, 2012
I tried the beautiful barn pic by mooz49. I hurried this a bit and struggled with it too. Figured I'd put it up anyway hoping for a bit of C&C.

DougN - Wow, it doesn't look hurried to me - it looks great! Wonderful use of colour.
I need to learn to do colour washes. I have to get out of wanting to colour within the lines.

Re: Monthly PEN & INK Project -- April, 2012
I posted that pic late late last night, well, early this morning...I was half asleep and didn't notice that the paper was buckled from the water. That accounts for some of the "waviness" in that picture.
Oh well, live and learn.

waviness works in this case. nice washing effects, rusty roof tin sheets are spot-on

Re: Monthly PEN & INK Project -- April, 2012
In an effort to improve my drawing/observation/planning skills I attempted to draw the Pots by Yabby.
I have mixed feelings about this, on one hand it could be better, on the other there some areas that I like, done in my sketchbook with a micron 01 pen.

Re: Monthly PEN & INK Project -- April, 2012
Kathy- nice little sketch-
and when an artist stops thinking that it "could be better", then that person is in a bad spot- either they have stopped caring or their ego has swollen their eyes closed.
life is good - but it could always be a little better!
