Hi

This is on A3 size paper, with mostly charcoal pencil + some conte, and watercolor for background... Michelangelo's 'Moses', I consulted a reference in the Guist Gallery.

Thank you for viewing!

Wonderful contrast and love the line(texture) that you have kept. Gives this a presence.

Lovely work Sir-P! The time away from crazyness (assumption) is doing your work good!

Great to see you back on the forums Mr”P” Was your reference a study for the statue or the statue itself? Which ever it was it’s a great drawing Dave

It really looks like it's made of stone! I like the expression.

Re: Studying Michelangelo's 'Moses'

Tommie - thanks! I love lines and have zero skills for the blended approach, hence you see a lot of hatch marks

Sir K!!!... great to have you here! Well, thank you very much... @ perceived improvement, I'll accept that in all humility. As regards craziness, well... creativity flourishes in it, so I'm always happy to wade in (whenever I can).

Hi Andy, that's so kind of you - thank you!

And its GREAT to see you too, Mr Journeyman .. No, no, the sketch is all mine, the sculpture is by Michelangelo, and I referred to a pic of it on Guist. Thank you!

Kate... the association of 'nail' and 'head' made me laugh :P Its said that Michelangelo took a hammer to it when his creation won't 'speak' - I'm glad he changed his mind (or someone restrained him from using the hammer). But that's a mighty glare on him I must say. Thanks so much

Ahh Andrew, that's the genius of Michelangelo, he could make stone throb with passion and rage. Thank you!
