Fabulous sketches everyone. I don't have time to comment individually but they really inspire me, in such variety of medium and approach. We have not packed to leave to the USA yet, and I have lots of works to finish before the trip but last night I finish this Hunt and two challenges in about 3 hours. Here they are:

The first two images were done in my Fabriano Vanezea A5 Sketchbook


The cicada sketches were done from a dry husk found on a tree in neighborhood garden. They show three views including 'Top' and 'Bottom'.



The following images were done in my 6x8 inch Japanese sketchbook




The 'round' thing is my tiny compact face powder.


The 'Textured' thing is my small natural sponge.


The 'smooth' thing is one of my marbles.




The bottle in the still-life below is a Japanese sake liquor. The real bottle should be much taller, I messed up its proportion into the French Perrier. It is a gift from our Japanese friend. The man-made was my apple-shape kitchen timer.





The plane was my kid's soft pillow. The first one was done with wc & ink. The second one was done with a thick sepia graphite pencil.

Joan- love the rocks, and top and bottom (which looks like it would make a great cookie press), mmm corona, just missing the lime, sweet easter stuffy too

Joan: Thanks..... the salt shaker top and bottom, corona and bunny are very nice... I like the bunny the best but I love the corona If you have the extra lime throw it in for me.....

Ai: Thanks.. You have been very busy I see.... love the colors... I really like Grover.. I miss the Sesame Street gang... my son loved watching them when he was young almost as much as I did...... super idea for colorful, I kept thinking but just couldn't get there .... Have a safe trip.....

Ai - Wonderful group of sketches!!! I am so impressed with the sketches of the cicadas!!! I would need a magnifying glass to do those. Your pages of the book are adorable...so colorful. Nice veggies and shell. Nice to end with an airplane for your trip. lol Have a safe flight. I will pm my phone # to you so we can make plans for our day together.

You will see that I have been sketching and not posting so you will have a few to see. About my usual. At least I got some done. All in the brown sketchbook with a Micron 05

Number 12, in the ground and Number 13 above the ground.



Number 14, old - my Blanchard spurs that burned in the fire. I wrote a story about them on my blog. Number 15, smooth - bowls that were burned but nothing stuck to them. Number 16 textured - a little chile pot with all sorts of stuff stuck to it, even the spoon.




Paul, I love your drawers and razor. Great perspective on the teapot. I like the lamp and the clip. Those clips always seem to be something easy to sketch for me and then the perspective throws me off. You did well. Then you got into color. Some great choices again. Love the flower and apple.

Bonnie, yummy asparagus, a favorite. Great ideas for your items. Thanks for sharing landscapes of your area. Lovely red tomatoes.

Dominica, great still life. I think I could go for brandy and nuts together.

Hi, Kivrin. Your sketches of the doggies are so good. Make me smile.

Joan, hard to sketch when you can't see. Nice rocks. Interesting salt shaker bottom. Must be glass. Yummy beer bottle, too. I'll have to pass on the beer and go for the wine you have once in a while. Cute Bunny. Your landscapes are super. Juicy red tomato. I'm off for a snack now. Tee hee.

Tresgatos, your saguaro sketch/painting is great. You should post it in the Southwest forum if you haven't. Nice bunch over there, too. Good teachers.

Ai, such great work. I, of course, like the mugs for my collection. It is really growing again. Ha. Cute airplane. Excellent on the book inside and out. All great choices and well done.
