Just discovered the Challenge today - love trees - went out back and chose one left by the loggers.
18x24 acrylic/ungessoed kraft paper - paper really soaked up the water and is all buckled, as you can probably see.

Gill, great looking gnarled trunk at the bottom.

Salem, good to see Artbar being showcased. It has strong colors. Good contrasts.

Bonnie, really like your first piece, it has so much energy in its loose strokes.

Jamie, what a great loose interpretation. It's almost like it is at the edge of the cliff.

Trier, wow, a tree with character, even its environment. Nice job.

This tree was in the parking lot of the university when the wind was blowing quite hard.

First is prismacolor pencils and artstix




Then when I got home, I did some active brushing with hard brush to soften the strokes
Then Daniel Smith watercolor
Finally some Lyra Watersoluable graphite crayon while surface is still wet

Sandra you've managed to show how you progressed this windblown tree, so fun the final result.
