ampersand boards??

I'm wanting to create a modular system of art. I want to be able to paint small sizes and then people who need a work of art that is small can be just buy a piece or two. For others who want something large can purchase 5-10+ etc.. what I need though is an easy way to hook them all together.. something that the customer can do.. so they could purchase a small one now and then come back later and purchase say another one and be able to go home and attach it to the one they have. Solutions?
