Water Elemental (Egyptian-ish)

This alchemist was able to create a water elemental by drawing from the Nile river. But little does she know that its existence would be short-lived unless binding magic is used.

The study of alchemy in those days was indeed one of trial and error. That is, until mage guilds became commonplace across the Farlands.

Beautiful piece. I like the being and even more, I like the creature in the receptacle!! All digital? You're Chinese, Mr. or Ms. Wong/Huang? I'm Chinese too, originally from Hongkong.

Thanks!

This is digital. I'm still kinda new to using drawing in photoshop and still trying to find a style. Currently I'm having the most trouble with achieving natural-looking color variations. Which is why this picture looks so monotonously orange

And yes I'm from Sichuan originally. =)

But this color really works for this piece. You could always google Boris Vallejo, Frank Frazetta's work to see their color combination. Also there is on the market Magik cards and their creatures have great colors too.

I love this picture and what makes it even more intriguing, aside from the vaperous looking creature in the jar, is that the guy has a lion(?) tail! Pretty awesome!

And the orange works in this picture

Have a look at Todd Lockwood he is a brilliant fantasy digital artist.

I'm trying to teach myself at the moment but it's not going well. Although I am in love with Artweaver, makes my attempts look better.

I love this painting, and I think the figure with the tail is female! Gail

This is stunning in so many ways. Love the story, the lighting, the figure, that amazing creature... so much to look at and admire.
