Cat in the folds

Hi; I believe that this is my first post here. This is a drawing of my siamese cat, done mostly in pointtalism but instead of a pen or pencil, I used a wood burner. It is 11' x 14" and done on a cradled wood support made of birch. Thanks for looking and I hope you like it. Fay

Fay, this is amazing. Can you explain your method, please? I'd love to know how you use the wood burner.

Re: Cat in the folds

Thank you so much for the positive feedback. To answer your question Gerri MC; I use a Razortip woodburner with a small ball as my tip. The method is the same as you would do with a pen or pencil if you were doing pointalism, millions of well placed dots. I find it rather relaxing but it is a very slow process. You have to concentrate for you cannot fix an error. Thanks for your interest.

Re: Cat in the folds

Wow! Beautiful! I do woodburning, which I learned from my father years ago. It's not an easy technique, with little or no room for error. The results are worth it though.

Incredible! I don't know what a wood-burner is (will look it up) but the sepia tones look so classy and I can't even begin to comment on your process (pointillism) which is beyond anything I'd ever think of trying - must take LOTS of devotion and skill! Thank you for sharing this lovely picture.
