Re: Mm2164

Two portraits by this artist - one self-portrait, the other a portrait of another artist associated with him

Peter August Böckstiegel (1890-1951)
Départ des plus jeunes pour la guerre (Departure of the Youngsters for War), 1914

That was a difficult one to find...

EDIT> found more, including the MM, the 1913 self portrait and the Portrait of Conrad Felixmüller: http://weimarart.blogspot.com/2010/0...ckstiegel.html

Re: Mm2164

Pleased to give you a challenge
Your first link surprised me (it shouldn't have) - Böckstiegel married in 1919

In German the title is "Auszug der Jünglinge in den Krieg"

A more complete biography of Böckstiegel can be found here: http://www.paboeckstiegel.de/biograp..._boeckstiegel/ (in German) or here http://translate.google.com/translat...oeckstiegel%2F (same site in German/English translation via Google).
When viewing that site, I think its useful to be aware that Böckstiegel was born in Arrode, Westphalia, and that he had a studio in Dresden

The site contains a catalogue of his known work - in 1937 about 100 of Böckstiegel's pieces were either burnt or sold abroad by the Nazi's.

I think you mean "pornographic"?
If you are talking about the blogspot link, blame that on some sort of routing table hacking or another (I don't really understand these things anymore). The first time I loaded it up, yes, I did arrive at just another porn site; when I retried, it came up with the correct page. It focuses on homoeroticism in art, but it is by no means pornographic
