Watercolor. "Cowgirl Secrets" 3.25"x1.35"

Well, this one is about HALF the size of an ACEO. I've included a penny so you can compare size.
The face was difficult. On a small brush (yes I did use a small brush for the face!) you load up with color, and it dries so quickly, it won't come off the brush. Even just a small amount of water is almost too much. It easily drops off the brush, and obliterates any fine detail you've already painted.

Oh well. Hummmm... I also think the original is not quite this 'saturated'. It's midnight, and I'm tired. Took me a while to do this. I started one and 2 or 3 hours into it decided the paper wouldn't work. Multiple layers, and the top surface wanted to come off. So started it all over again. I nearly didn't. But I'm not really a quitter (unfortunately too many artists quit their works too easily, I've found).

Thanks for looking.
~Jillian

That's so tiny! This looks sharp. I like the whole feeling and subject of the painting. Nice.

Well done with this one Jillian. I know what you mean by the paint drying on your fine brush before you could get it to the painting surface, but the perseverance paid off.

Val.

Lovely, Jillian... You should post this in the Southwest & Western forum. They'd enjoy it immensely.

Thank you Meimei & Kurlie.

Mostly winsor & newton transparent watercolors, maybe some daniel smith or holbein. I think it's just 140 lb paper.

Glad you like it.

It's in an exhibition in Colorado - to open tomorrow - El Dorado, Colorado Springs. Until mid-May.
