Survived the storms! Tornados hitting all around us, but the skipped over our little valley (literally). Dogs have finally calmed down, too. Lots of lightning and rain.

Off to work for a 12 hr shift...sigh... but at least I have a job.

Hope all of you are safe and sound today.

almost time for the cars shows to begin!

the other two were easy guesses.. Did anyone recognize this trunk emblem...

till later,

Life IS good

Re: Shutterbug Daily, Saturday, March 3, 2012

Earlier today we tood a walk to and back from our local Waterfront and Market. Below are some images from the area. I set my exposre EV by CENTERING my HISTOGRAM BAR in the HISTOGRAM BOX with the EV CONTROL reading from a GREY CARD.

This has an interesting mix of window and house lights.

Window Flare marred this one with windo and house lights.

This one I could not get close to the bird. My image is a 1.05 X .70 inch crop from the original image.

Hello Norm! Missed ya!

It may be just me, but your focus has gotten significantly better, nice sharp images.
I can 'read' these pictures very well, nice balance of values, except for image 5 and 6. Bright sunlight from behind the subject always causes glare for me.

Does anyone know of a tip for reducing glare in that kind of setting?

Glad to see you posting again.

life is good

My thanks for the kind words. Your eyes are not playing tricks - these did turn out better.

The best way to stay away from glare, do not do images where there is glare in the first place. As for the last two - we had very low light levels, but glare and back light did the last two in a bit. The lower part of Anne in the cafe is very accurate like the first four.

I have a couple in DARKROOM as well.
