Teeth implants- share your experience, please!
I was wondering if someone on the forum has had teeth implants done and what your experience is? Was it painful? Did you have any complication? Can you chew on food with them as with regular molar teeth? Any problems with it? Where have you had it done (country)? Is there any difference between implants done in US,Canada, Europe? Would you recommend implants or rather to avoid it as much as possible.
If you had the implants done or you know someone who did, please share your experience.

Re: Teeth implants- share your experience, please!
I have got five implants and I am very happy with them. I can eat everything like they would be my "own" teeth. It's absolutely not painful because of injections. Mine were done in Austria. Unfortunately there is one negative aspect - they are rather expensive!
good luck (I hope you could understand my English)

Hi,
Fortunately I don't have any experience on it, but I'm sure that you already know how expensive they can be.
I'm saying this because often cheap can become expensive. If you have the chance, it's better to select a good service than going for someting cheaper and get problems, especially when one is talking about health.

I think my first teeth implants were in my brother's arm when I was around 5, he seemed to think it was quite painful.

Well, if you can afford you should decise to make implants. I made seven , just last week more three ones. During the implantation you don´t feel anything as you are narcotized . You can eat everything without any problem.
It´s very important not to put the definitive teeth before at least six months.
The implant has to be accepted totally by your bones.
I do mine in Brazil, but my dentist only uses material form USA an Europe.
Don´t hesitate to ask more about, if necessary

Re: Teeth implants- share your experience, please!
my sister in law had an upper back tooth implant and it has ruined her health. The doctor nick her sinus cavity and then implanted the metal piece. Fungus has grown in her entire body and the only time she feel half way normal is when on antibiotic. She has tried to get it removed but no doctor will do it. She has gone to major dental universities and still no one will do it. It is a foreign object in your body and it has no business being there in my opinion.

Had two done a few years back. Cost a fortune but no problems. Had a great dentist too and didn't have any pain at all.

Re: Teeth implants- share your experience, please!
I've had two and am very happy with them. They look and work like the others, tho they don't have the 'feeling' like the other teeth: they don't have any feeling at all and it's easy to bite myself. Took a while to get use to that one! The experience wasn't the greatest, I didn't have any after surgery pain meds because I can't take NSAID's or tylenol, so I had to tough it out for a few days. Be sure you have a good, highly qualified oral surgeon to do the job, otherwise you might have problems down the line. He put in sinus lifts prior to the implants, which I think add to the jaw bone. Implants are quite expensive, have to be taken care of the same as regular teeth, brushed, flossed, gums massaged, but well worth it.

Re: Teeth implants- share your experience, please!
Has anybody (from the people who replied or anyone else) had done upper back molar teeth as implants? My fear is, I have my sinus low and it will have to be lifted when putting implants in there. I am scared to death that the sinus lifting will cause further problems. On the other hand, If I don`t do the implants I have no teeth to chew the food with.

Yep, I had the implants & lifts on two upper teeth, second and third teeth from the back, and have had no problems.
Also, I have constant sinus problems and the lifts didn't create more problems.
