I love Zorn. He was a master of portraits, figures and limited color. He was very popular in his day and I'm glad to see he's becoming known again.
This is a wonderful portrait with two colors, plus the blue ground. Your expert use of the background peeking through in the eyes and as highlights everywhere is excellent. Who would think blue was a good highlight for dark hair? Looking forward to you class and begining to practice on gouache. It's sinking into my head quicker than I thought...
