Re: Barn

I like the up-close view too. When I look at it from across the room the weathered wood effect is really great. It's neat how you did that without fussing over individual boards.

Hi Nancymae, thanks!

Hi Donna, I've messed up too many paintings creating the boards!

Re: Barn

Another one that my comments posted here last night have disappeared. Weirdness!

Kyle, Totally amazing painting!! Everything about it is so right. I'm really impressed with the way you handled the masses of the tree branches. Suggested perfectly without noodling!

Re: Barn

Hi Everyone, thanks for commenting!
Randy, I'm glad you like the trees. After the underpainting, the tree to the right was a problem child. I had to remind myself to squint that area down, and just paint what I saw.

Re: Barn

Hi Kyle,

I posted on this last Friday but my response seems to have disappeared?

My only criticism was that the sky/cloud in the upper right was a little distracting from the whole. I think it works better when I cover that area, FWIW.

Overall very strong, I like the posts in the foreground they pull you in.

Re: Barn

I like the pattern your shaded areas have which work the eye thru the piece...holds it together nicely! Another good one, Kyle...

Re: Barn

I love this Kyle! I know I always say that about your work but this one is tighter, less cluttered. Like you knew exactly what you were saying and how to say it. I like the background tree, the pastels in the sky and of course the barn!
