So, I have a potential client on Fine Art America, and we agreed on a price, and this is the last email I got

"Thanks for getting back to me,Am okay with the your price $XXX? My model of payment is Cashier Check are you okay with the model of payment? About the shipping don't worry i have a shipping company that will come and pick it up in your place after you receive your payment. If you are okay with the model of payment give me your information so that i can mail out the payment to you as soon as possible. Your full name,address,state,city,zip code and phone number. Catch you soon."

I don't get the shipping part, and was wondering if you guys have seen this, or if you think I should be wary here

Yep definitely a scam, you will end up paying the shipping company a balance from the dodgy cashiers cheque and be out money as well as the artwork.

Sadly everyone is correct, it is a scam an old scam at that.
A Cashier's Check is no longer as safe as they were once deemed to be.
Having the check in your bank account is not even a guarantee that the money is there as the trick of the cashier’s check fraud is that the payee’s bank credits the seller’s account before the funds have actually arrived from the paying bank. Therefore, it looks like the funds have cleared and everything is OK. If you’re not sure what the difference is between seeing the dollars credited and actually having the dollars, visit your bank and ask.

If the buyer comes from Africa, Nigeria in particular that should rings a big red alarm bell

This scammer has been all over FAA this week. There are a lot of very disappointed newbies over there right now. :-(

This scam has been used on craig's list. Sounds like they are just going place to place with it. Always be aware.
