Gouache Plein Air...demo
went out this afternoon to film painting a gouache plein air in winter...explaining best ways to dress...how to use glycerin to prevent the paint and water from freezing, etc.,
this will be the substance for one of my Go To Meeting webinars coming up soon for F&W...this series on painting with Gouache primarily (4 of the five sessions)...
here was my set up...
my painting... 6"x 6" on colored acid free matboard...
here smaller to get a feel from a few paces back...

Ich bin sehr wahrscheinlich nicht die endgültige Experte über die Verwendung von Gouache ... das ist vielleicht, wie es technisch und traditionell gelehrt wird. Ich denke, dass die meisten Start mit Gouache von einem watercolorist Hintergrund kommen ... ich es her, dass als Öl Maler. Putting cremiger Farbflecken unten alla prima Stil. So ... da ich nicht versuchen, es zu malen oder zu verwaschen ... transparent, kann ich malen sie ganz undurchsichtig auf säurefreien Passepartouts farbigen ich kaufe bei meinem Framer ist ... oder Ich mag # 400 Series Strathmore Präsentation Bord.

I'm very likely not the definitive expert on the use of gouache...that is, perhaps as it is technically and traditionally taught. I think most that start using gouache come from a watercolorist background...I come at it from that as an oil painter. Putting creamier spots of color down alla prima style. Thus...since I don't attempt to paint it too washy...or transparent, I am able to paint it quite opaque on acid free colored matboards I purchase at my framer's...or I like #400 Series Strathmore presentation board.) |

I'll be looking forward to getting back to more oils...working back and forth, but the emphasis for now is to get what I need for the next webinar series which will be on gouache...

Beautiful job with the gouache. It looks as though it were painted as an oil.
I have a bare set...never used, but may take another look before your class.

we'll be redoing the webinar, "Foundations- ...For Reasons Paintings Work" first...as there were technical complications the first time recording the sessions. When that is done, the sessions will be made available, and the webinar on wet media featuring gouache will then shortly follow...
So, there will be a little time..
