Thank you Maya. I live on Long Island, and yes I do know about the portrait exhibition in Connecticut as well as the National Portrait Society. The thing is, this really isn't my painting, it is my client's. It never really was my painting, thought it certainly felt like it as I painted it. Whenever I do commissions I have to take that approach, otherwise I'd get attached to each and every one. This one is truly special though, and I will miss having it around. Maybe after a while I'll enter it into a show. I think right now my client really wants to have it hanging on his wall for a bit.

We all love your painting too! And if it can do that to those of us without a connection to this beautiful lady, I can only imagine how it is for him to be able to see her again, every day. Though it started out a commission, it somehow seems more a gift with all you've given to it.

You know Chris, if you want to increase, even further, the value of this painting to the owner, you might consider giving him the gift of this series of posts.

The care that you have taken with this painting of his lovely wife and all of our appreciation of it makes it truely more than "just" an exquisite image, on into the universality of human experience, referring both to the emotional aspect of their relationship and the developing creative experience, as well.

He is truly amazed and warmed by the fact that she is somehow touching so many people, even now. I think he is overwhelmed, as am I. This truly has been a very special experience, one I will treasure always.

I've said it before but it bears repeating, the group of people on this Pastel Forum are so wonderful and supportive, a great bunch of artists that have gathered from all across the globe in a common interest, "pastels". The sharing of technique, approach, ideas, and knowledge is truly priceless, we are so fortunate.
