Welcome Carlrobinhood to Fiber Art Forum. Looking forward to seeing your artwork. Thanks so much for stopping by. We love seeing pictures of what you are creating, so go ahead and start a thread for us to see. Also, stop by our chat thread "Stitch in Time" and let us get to know you.
Welcome also to Roslin. So glad you came out of lurkdom. If you are making clothing and costumes for LARP you are a fiber artist. I didn't do LARP, but went to gaming conventions and played role playing games as well as Ren Faires, all requiring appropriate costuming. So, I know you are selling yourself short there. We'd love to see what you've created. Go ahead and start a thread. Tho' I think you need one more post before you can post pictures. Stop by the "Stitch in Time" thread where we chat.

Re: Welcome to Fiber Arts! Please introduce yourself!!
Hello everyone! Well I was a member here many years ago working with oil on canvas but I have worked with fiber in many ways over my lifetime. From quilting that I learned from my grandmother to needle point and knitting. I then discovered spinning and wool fleece. I now have found the love of my creative world 3D Needle Felted Sculpture! I love this art form and can create for hours on end. I have worked with all kinds of fleece from various sheep to Llama and Alpaca. I now buy off the farmers and wash / process it all myself and do the color dying myself as well. This way I get the exact shade or color I want to use in a sculpture. I look forward to reading all about the many ways everyone here uses fiber!
Blessings
Linda

Re: Welcome to Fiber Arts! Please introduce yourself!!
Hello, my name is Linda Hall and I am a new poster but have been lurking a long while. I am a quilter who was frustrated with the limits of the fabric medium and discovered wool and felting. I could see Impressionistic Paintings in my mind but could not produce them with fabric. When I discovered wool and felting, I could see how this was possible, but did not have the drawing and painting skills necessary to bring it about. I have been studying oil painting, acrylic and pastel painting, which can easily be applied to wool painting. I use hand, wet and machine needle felting to produce wool paintings. I have learned so much from Johannes Vloothuis workshops and decided to join as a new artist to WC. I am here to learn from the art world but my day job is teaching quilting arts locally and regionally. I am on a journey with a new medium that has just been invented in the last 5 years so the information and direction is very limited. I hope to incorporate the mediums together to bring about my original vision. I suppose we are all doing that in our own way, it's just that most of the people on this site are way ahead of me and I would like to join the journey. I will post some pictures as soon as I figure out how.

Hello! My name's Stephy, I'm 26, and I'm from near Charlotte, North Carolina. I knit, sew, quilt (love some paper piecing!), paint (badly), draw (even worse), and generally make a mess. I look forward to meeting people with similar interests!

Welcome Stephy. I am a messy sewer. My sewing room looks like a tornado when through it. I made doll clothes for founded dolls. I also crochet, knit, use to make quilts and teddy bears. I hope you will join us every day in our chatter.

Hi there! I'm Iris aka Pinkbubelz! It's been a long time since I've been on Wetcanvas, but wanted to get back into things.
I am a knitter / crocheter.... Self-taught, mostly... and love my "yarn porn" at my LYS. :-) Always have lots of projects going on at the same time. Currently working on my 1st top (if it ever gets finished!)

Re: Welcome to Fiber Arts! Please introduce yourself!!
Hi there!
So much fun to have a Fiber Arts forum.
My mom ("nary" on webcanvas) introduced me to lots of different fiber arts throughout my life and my favorites right now are knitting and embroidery/crewel. I have also done needlepoint, cross stitch, crochet and I'm going to tackle my first quilt once my current embroidery project is done. I work during the week so I have to cram in all my projects during lunch, then at home in the evenings and weekends when I can.
Looking forward to seeing all the wonderful work on here. I can't say the stuff I do is "art" but it's fun to look at what others can do and draw inspiration from them.
Blessings!

Greetings to you 1knitchick. Welcome to the fiber art forum. You'd be surprised at how much art you are creating with all those fiber projects. We'd love to see what you are working on.
