Fishing for Compliments II - goldfish from abstraction

18x14 acrylics on matboard that was a vivid orange, yellow and white abstract. Negatively painting, I then formed a goldfish by using phthalo blue and mint green for the water around his body. Lastly I drew with a brush positive seaweed or kelp. This is the second of these as my first one was last year on one of the WDEs in AMAE forum. Here is the abstraction:

C&C welcome

Wow -- so many of your pieces make me want to get "into your creative mind," and this is definitely one of them!! I love the expression of the goldfish -- SOOO animated!!

I too love the expression on this cute fishy face..Like he's just discovered us looking at him I get a good since of water without movement and what would be something like a reflection off of glass...Well done Kay!

Love this! I've never actually seen this process before in detail, so I found it really interesting!

Love the colours and the movement in there too.

JayJay, many thanks to you, too. It was just a simple exercise, fast and easy and had me smiling the whole time.
