Mosaic artists
Hi Just wondering if there are any mosaic artists here in WetCanvas (yes, I know it's not "wet" art - except when I bleed!)
Anyone interested in starting a Mosaic thread?
Thanks
Sharon in Vermont

Re: Mosaic artists
I'm a budding mosaic artist. I would be totally interested in a mosaic thread. Here's my first attempt at a mosaic:
May I see pics of some of yours?

The lighting is terrible in that pic. It looks more like this:

Re: Mosaic artists
Hi- I'm guessing by the responses that there aren't a lot of mosaic artists. I posted one in the glass forum years ago and think I only got a single response.
I for one would like to see more from both of you.
I mostly paint and occasionally dabble in mosaics. I think, over the years, I've maybe done 10 or so. This past year I did 4. Most of these are about 22- 30" wide except the portal fish which is slightly smaller. I cut out my substrates into shapes. Sorry- the uploader quit on me after one. But you get the idea.
Jtownsend- cool portrait!

Re: Mosaic artists
Thank you Sharon. That one was particularly time consuming because of all the cut out work and tiny cuts. Still trying to figure out how to hang it, or ship it if someone bought it, because it's delicate. Much appreciated. Uploader still isn't working for me or I'd post a few more.

Re: Mosaic artists
Got hooked on mosaics and now have done my mailbox, flowerbox, patio wall and kitchen backsplash (posted a pic of part of that). It is an addiction...

Re: Mosaic artists
Wow! great mosaics! That backsplash is to die for. This is what I want to do when I get my kitchen redone.
I am currently working on a table mosaic about ~46" diameter, I will try to post a picture later.
I also have one that is about 8" x 11" which I truly love.
