New armature system

WOW,I'm impressed!! I got a e from this company in my business email today and went to check out their site. They make armatures - really outstanding ones with BONES that are plastic so you can work on them and scrape down to them and not lose any detail! They have both figurative and equine armatures, and even have some that can be baked. Figurative ones include several sizes of full body and several sizes for busts (including shoulders on some of them). COOL BEANERS!!

They're not horribly expensive and they are reuseable and you can order parts for them. What else could you want? Have to decide what I want to make before I order one.

Re: New armature system

That is way cool. I saw that they got Veryl to give a recommendation. To get one from her is a high honor. If I ever go to working in oil based clays I'd be tempted to use the system.

Was thinking how this could possibly translate for the water clay sculpture. Could possibly make the parts with clay and fire them. Then a sculptor could only add paper clay and work with that to create their figure over the fired clay armature. Paper clay will stick to already fired clay and not crack while firing (due to very minimal shrinking). Okay, so if I had gumption, I'd try and follow the model of this other site and offer armature's for the water clay artists by starting a business for that!

Thanks for sharing the good link. Let us know how it works if you do buy one.
