Re: Photo Paint-along - DECEMBER, 2011

Sandra, lovely work. The fishmonger is full of action...I really feel him tackling the squirming fish!!

My 2 preacher studies are separate works...I traced the outlines from my pencil version to do the acrylics!

Re: Photo Paint-along - DECEMBER, 2011

Sandra - great work, these fishmongers are wonderful....I like the tension in the fingers on the second one and the face of the poor fish. The way those three men stand together as a unit and then their faces passing those looks....fun work.

Janet. - those boys are looking good......the receeding figures are good, you have the different facial expressions there good.

June - oh, my that clergy man is scary! It is a scary photo.

I have been all tied up with Christmas stuff and my teen daughter adolescent behaviour.....hope things level out soon.

June, that's definitely the efficient way to do a second piece from the priest.

Here's Faber Castell Pitt pastel pencil on Classic Cachet black sketchbook 5x7 inch with black colorfix pastel ground on it.

First one has tricolor pencil and Derwent Graphitint and Prismacolor pencils.

This one I was testing how well pastel pencil could yield armor like effects.

Sandra - I'm glad someone is getting some art down. Your interpretations are so different. Good exercise in drawing AND imagination!! The white chalk of the gravedigger is intriguing.

Sandra, I really like the effect of using black paper as a ground. The third image in blue is very atmospheric.

Sandra these are all so great. The black paper gives such a great atmosphere. I love the swan lake dancers, the woman is a vibrant butterfly.

Re: Photo Paint-along - DECEMBER, 2011

June, like your preacher very much in black and white and color. He looks like a good and holy man...a little more sinister in color.

My computer is pretty old Sandra, so I could only see your grave digger and your interpretation is interesting...like the white on black...lots of atmosphere. Poor fishy...nice movement on the part of the monger.

I wonder if we could extend this post for another month. I'd like to try a few more.

This is really very good, Robin. It has different combinations of red and greens. It makes it so lively. And the boys' expressions really shows they are having fun, even more than the real photo.
