Updated!!Check this thread if you are missing a post or thread from Still Life
If you haven't spotted it yet...there is an announcement at the top of the forum re the server upgrade -
We expect that WC will be offline beginning 2/26 and should resume operation by 3/1.
So don't panic - Paint!!    |

UPDATE this has now been postponed for a short time due to the heavier than expected preparation time, but we will notify you of the new date ASAP |

...Well, we've made one step forward in getting our e-mail notifications back.
However, the problem of missing images is still rearing its unhappy head. Here is the latest on that issue:

Your help would be appreciated in spotting the threads that have missing images so we can report them. We won't be able to look them up (we're fighting fires all over the place), so you need to provide the URLs to them for us to make it useful.

Another blip occurred on Saturday 17th Sept.
We know the site went down for a while on Saturday and can only assume there was a database error....we won't know more until work resumes tomorrow...sorry! If you can...please repost  |

It's happened again...it was scheduled downtime for upgrades - and notified by Sarah Allspaw, the Community Manager, Last night ...all we can do now is wait, to see if they can retrieve it...if not, we'll probably have to do as before...and pop all the broken ones into my thread for collection... .but we'll wait a while first...in case we don't have to!

WC's database replication process is taking a very long time because of its enormous size. The exponential growth of WC was actually the reason we needed to add a new web head & storage, etc. during last night's round of maintenance/upgrades.
In order to bring the site back online this morning, while the database replication is allowed to continue, we had to revert to a version from before the maintenance period.
So, as the replication process is completed, the databases will be merged and presently missing content will return. No data has been lost, it's all still there. So it should be just a matter of time before the missing content is returned.
We're sorry that this is taking longer than expected...but very much appreciate your patience while this process is completed.

I know a lot of my comments have not been restored...I expect some of yours have also been affected...we'll just have to be patient..as Dan asks and hope they are restored.
Meanwhile....if you know there are posts missing from YOUR threads FROM 4th-6th Jan 2012, please put the url of YOUR thread in here...I will open this thread for that purpose for 1 week....your help is appreciated...so thank you! |
