I saw a few Vermeer's in the Met several weekends ago. There is a group event to copy Vermeer in portrait forum. Good opportunity to get my hands wet...

Respected Sir,

what is the method for preparing canvas for this type of work?.sir when i use my oil colour on canvas it looks dull unfresh why this is happaning sir?. i use ready made canvas. sir what can i do?

Beautifully worked .... This would have to be the most expressionable paintings in the world , he was looking into far more then just her soul when he painted the original
