man praying and God shows up

This is a acrylic painting 30x40 inches big.
it about a man who is praying and God comes to talk to him and answer his prays. I put God as the yellow lamp for the Bible says "Thy Word is a Lamp unto my feet"
I did do this in Bryce a long time ago and thought it be good to paint it. here the link to it;

remember the history of these computer programs like Bryce and poser was made for the painter artist to help in his art work but the programs took off on they own and is a art form of they own now.

many people in real life say about the two hands. if you put your hands on a mirror you will see the reflection of the hand in the mirror. What you see is the reflection of the hand on a differ plane. It the spirit world that comes into this world. God made all so He can move thought all. Here He comes to talk and answer this man so the two worlds comes together.

This is wonderful. As with you other painting of the swamp and canoe you definitely have your own style. love the background and how the arm fades into the background. Definitely go to the university and take classes as you spoke of in your other post. You won't regret it!

Beautiful colors....some of them make me think of the way the colors of heaven are described in the Bible.

Is he praying, "God why do I have eight fingers"?

MattOKC he just have five fingers. there a plane he is touching like a mirror. You put your hands up to the mirror and you will see your hand and it will look like 10 fingers then in a way. here the hand is in a diff plane so part of the hand is showing but 8 fingers.
the two planes is here on earth and one is the Heavens where God is. god is the lamp of light.

Jocco I find your concept quit interesting, and I totally get the part about the plane of that reflection. There is one thing that seems at odds with the excellent work in Bryce (but I'm having difficulty singling it out). May be it is the set of his jaw or the shifting of emphasis from his right eye to the left?
I don't quite know. In the Bryce image he is drawn to (or at least comfortable with,) the light.
In the painting, to me, he seems to be recoiling from the light drawing his hand away. Perhaps if he were a bit more open mouthed or the eyes more focused on the light. Like I said ,I don't quite know why he seems to be pulling his hand away. Can you see what I mean, or am I overly comparing the painting with the Bryce image ?
I like the painting very much. Just nit picking.................(don't you just hate it when people do that!?!)

In the Bible i know when God or a angel shows up man will a lot of time fall down and if it a angel he tells the man not to worship him. the man will also be told to stand up. maybe this is what i was trying to do in the painting to show man fear a little more. yes I know Moses saw a burning bush that did not burn and he walk toward the bush and god told him to take off his shows for he was standing on holy ground. Moses and others did see God or heard Him with out the fear also.
Guess I was trying to show the fear in the painting a little more.

I see,...I suspected I was drawing too close of a comparison. The reaction does seem more reasonable to me. Also I had meant to complement you on the contrasting brush work; going from course to soft blending as the colors work from gray to almost full saturation. I very much enjoy the 'energy' it gives the painting.
30x40 is a lot of surface for me! good work!
