Re: Great Journal Blogs/Sites

Here is a new one! Beloved Jackie Simmonds now has a blog: Jackie Simmonds Artyfacts - "painting - my own work and the works of others; teaching in pastels, oils, watercolours, mixed media, sketching, composition and design, colour, the magic of light, form, tone, the illusion of depth, creating mood, techniques and methods, musings on art, paintings for sale"

Looks to be worth bookmarking!

Jan

And another one! Not new but new to me: One Drawing a Day, from a group of eight illustrators that call themselves Studio 1482.

Great site, Jan! Definitely one I will bookmark.
I love the work she did using the Dr. Phils Radiant watercolor bottles but they are fugitive when exposed to direct sunlight. So I guess while they would be neat to use in a journal, I wonder if maybe not so good if one wanted to frame the art later as Jackie indicated she did with some?

Re: Great Journal Blogs/Sites

thanks for mentioning my blog! And incidentally.......I did frame and sell some of those images done with the Radiant Watercolours, and nobody has complained that they have faded...they were done quite a few years ago.

So perhaps not as fugitive as one might imagine.

Jackie

ps I do like being "beloved"..............arent you folks lovely!

A subset of Cathy Johnson's blog is this part ---> Art Tips. You can also sign up for free email updates.

That Cathy Johnson is either one mutha bloogin' machine. Or has a full paid staff doing it for her. So much good stuff.

I just bought a video on travel journaling by Jacquiline Newbold. Here's a link to her travel journal site
