Matthew 5:13-14 "Salt & Light"

http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/i...ltLight_sm.jpg
I've been very blessed for the last few months to have the opportunity to create worship/prophetic paintings during worship at our church. These have been a major stretch for me with the medium used and the time allowed to finish. It's been really cool to have the Father give me a word for the painting in advance to have the worship music and pastors message fit with the painting. (not knowing what they were doing in advance)

This painting was one that had been on my heart for weeks. It was actually done at home in oil. It is my very first tryptic. I had heard this message preached and how salt was a preservative. But, I felt there was more. When praying one day He showed me that salt is ALSO a flavor enhancer. When not used too heavily, it draws out the good flavor of the food! So, we are to draw out the BEST in people, encourage their giftings. With His help, those things will shine and negative things will simply fall away without us doing or saying anything about them. As the light, we are to shine HIS light of love! When you love someone, even with a simply help in the grocery store, you are shining His love!

Hopefully, when I figure out what I am doing wrong with uploading, I'll be able to show a few more. Until then, hopefully you can see what this looks like. (The rectangular parts -salt shaker & candle w/Bible- are 12" x 18", and the square-Earth-is 14"sq.)

Thank you for looking!
Felica
(Oh, and can someone tell me why inserting pictures doesn't work anymore? Maybe something has changed in the year or so since I last posted)

Very nice job. Great contrast and well painted. You should be able to hit the little icon above on the menu to the right that is a blue square with a picture of a mountain and upload your picture from your computer.

Re: Matthew 5:13-14 "Salt & Light"

Felica,
It is a deeply felt composition. The idea of shaking the salt over the planet and illuminating it with the words of Gos is amazing. I like the colors and contrast you have reached in your work.
Regarding the upload:
a) You need to resize the image. I usually use Paint software (Programs - Accessories - Paint). From Image menu call Stretch/Skew menu item, set Horizontal and Vertical fields (Stretch) to 30, then Save.
b)Sometimes when the server is very busy you can't upload you image. You need to wait and try again later.

Thank you, Keith. I did that (about 10 times) and the picture uploaded, but, would NOT go in the message. I didn't know if maybe they had changed something since I haven't been on much since the ArtistNetwork took WC over. Thank you, though!

Thank you, so very much, Anna! Your kinds words mean so much! The size of my pic was 212KB, 600 x 521, well within limits. I used to upload all of the time years back and have never had this problem. Who knows... just a glitch?

Thanks again!

Re: Matthew 5:13-14 "Salt & Light"

Felica, this is very touching work!!

Uploader: I had troubles with it and now, I:
1. Do the little yellow mountain thing (both buttons),
2. "Copy" before I click on the picture and then click it,
3. I 'paste' into the thread or post and I usually have a picture,
4. Then, I praise God that it actually works!!
