Undergrad Art Major senior project help

hi lovelies

I am trying to piece together in my head and on paper what i would like to do for my senior project. I know i want to do a mural, and i know where i would like it, but i am only getting a vague idea of what i want, and it's really nothing that i can put down yet. the space is a wall in the Art Department building, which used to be an orange packing house, so it has a very industrial look to the ceiling and tall walls.

i think what i would like to inquire is how to light a fire under my metaphorical muse so i can get a move on writing my paper proposal and my design draft. i begin classes next week and wish to get at least some form of a draft done by then to begin cutting through the red tape.

Hmm, I'd work out the size of the wall or space and get lost of small bits of paper of the right dimensions so I could scribble the idea. If it's a 3D space then make a cardboard box model. Then draw the idea, lots of times until you're happy with it. Once you've got that far work out the cols needed, cost, guess the time, materials needed etc. and put the lot in a file. Plan complete.
