Strokes of Genius Question

Greetings,

I'm not sure if anyone here can answer this, but I hope someone may know or be able to send me to the right place. I got an email for the call for entries Strokes of Genius 4. It states that the requirements of a winning entry needs to be a RAW file. My question is will tif files be acceptable? I scan my artwork and RAW is not an option. I have always used tif. I have emailed them with the question yesterday and so far they've not gotten back to me yet, may be too soon.

2mb 72dpi jpeg is what they are asking for. -kw

Hi again Kevin. I also replied back to you on the Drawing forum. Yes it's true to enter it's jpeg format. However, if you are a winner,

Winners will also be required to submit a 9” x 12” RAW file (RGB format, 300dpi) or 4” x 5” transparency for the work to be published.

It would be a very unhappy moment to win, (one must always be in a positive frame of thought) and then realize that you didn't have a raw file for the work and it was no longer in inventory. My work is usually on the small scale so I scan it at a very high dpi in tif format. Then resize it as needed for whatever.

Right again ( and again) -yet still: not to worry - you can transfer your work to 4 x 5 transparency ( basically a large slide) from digital for not so much money and you are sorted.

Thanks Kevin. I didn't know that. I do know that one of our old digital cameras that took raw images is now obsolete, Photo Shop and iphoto no longer support it. Things change so quickly. But anyway, that helps knowing that I can convert the image to a 4" x 5" transparency.
