Child of "On the border"

I have used the two PA pieces of the intersection of 43rd St and Stateline Road to do a studio piece. My motivation was to try some changes and see how they worked out. So... here is the first wash:

and here it is about done:

and here is a quick snapshot of the result:

a bit neater without insects, passersby and natures interference.

I have to admit Dave it looks a little too clinical compared to the plein airs. Needs some shadows I would say on the church?

See what you mean. Well, maybe not add shadows, I like the "glow" effect. I'll lift out highlights for the same result. Add a bit of trash spots on the forground. Darken some areas on the LH building. A few tweaks here and there. See how that goes:

Well, that last one seems to be disliked by most and my wife says she loathes the wide street, (it does have four lanes). So here is a fifth shot at this:
