...I hope you see this, thanks for the encouraging words. the jackalope was done with oil pastels. it was the first time i have ever used them and it was fun.It is a bad scan and does not show the texture very well. i did some scraping on the finished product and it accented the fur.all the peices were exciting to see the different ways we all see the same object and the differant mediums used. I am looking forward to more creature feachtures!

Hi all,

I know January is over, but I just wandered into this section of the boards yesterday and *really* wanted to draw the jackalope. I love everyone's different take on the critter, especially the baby bunny 'lopes. The spiral horns and huge ears on Skatty's are awesome!

Mine's based on a kudu antelope because I really like the shape of their horns and their "just leaned against a freshly painted fence" stripes.

Please excuse the sloppy lines and colors. I don't normally go from start to finish in a single afternoon.
