So I am starting this project as another learning opportunity as well as to make a gift for a friend colleague.

After some research I decided to lay the ground first with Winsor Newton Griffin Alkyd paints, I think it dries faster and is better than acrylic paints. So far Im just trying to brush a thin and even layer. Since this is no longer digital painting the method would have to change a bit and general color block-in happens first. I skip drawing phase although it would be recommended for some others.
Sorry that right now she looks like a redhead,

but I think that is attractive too...
