WDEJan07/11 sheep and swans
I made it! I really made myself sit down to focus and to finish something. I have found it so hard to get back here. Today and yesterday I worked on these images.
This was fiddley. It started as a vector file and then into Painter where i used the pastels and coloured pencil brushes with my little Wacom Bamboo Fun Tablet and pen.
When the above was finaly complete, on a curious note I hit the Woodcut effect selection and enter and this is what the computer did with it. I think it is rather fun. I'd love to know what you think of this?
And then I moved onto swans
And I tried the woodcut effect and then...
I am glad I tried working with these lovely images this week. Thank you for the beautiful photos this week. I love to get your thoughts and comments. It is late and I will come back tomorrow to see who I have not yet checked out. It is such a great group this week.

Re: WDEJan07/11 sheep and swans
I think these are super MJ - I can see all the work in the sheep - very labour-intensive, but certainly worth it!
Then the swans, again a lot of cp detail in them. Absolutely love the water effect and colours used in that - love that little painting!
The woodcut effect is superb and both will make greatcards don't you think?
I'm glad you managed to find time to gget back here MJ - thanks so much for the lovely work!

Re: WDEJan07/11 sheep and swans
I love the woodcut filter on the sheep the best, its wonderful. I am actually doing some lino block carving and this is right up my alley. What a great way to take some of my sketches or paintings and see it already done!!!

They're all great, Mary! Love the directional strokes.
The woodcuts are powerful works that seem to turn back time!!

Really good on all of them. The woodcut on the sheep really works. Very interesting to see the different efects. Jen

Re: WDEJan07/11 sheep and swans
Thank you all for coming by to see my sheep and swans. I really had fun with them. Maybe I will makes some cards of these woodcut images. they were such a surprise when they popped up on the screen. The base images took a chunk of time as I drew those little lines and played with colours but the woodcut effect was just a whim and a click. Sometimes the computer takes my breath away when it makes things happen like that. But there is nothing like the real thing is there? real paint on real paper.
But I have to admit I am becoming addicted to digital because it is so clean and there is such a colour choice among many other things.
Yikes I am talking too much.
Have a great week!
