this is the second in the Selene Turns series..it is unfinished. the photo put a yello cast in the picture which doesnt exist in the painting..all details in the face and hands are blurred and lost...but..it looks pretty good anyway..i like the changes i made to the figure in this painting from the first draft..

I agree with Irene--you do have a terrific imagination! And a wonderfully expressive style! I only have one suggestion and that concerns the size of her neck. It seems too wide and heavy for someone with such a tall, slim build. What medium did you paint this in? Phyl

the only thing i would change is the size of the hands and feet. hands and feet are always underexaggerated, i feel, but in my work, i generally make them really big. it looks more natural for some reason. the neck is big, but would work better if the head were bigger; or the head a bit bigger and the neck a tiny bit smaller. her breasts are large (!), and this can be good... depends on what you're trying to depict. I'd fix the crown of her head, where her skull peeks through her hair, ad some darks here and along the body of the hair, remember facial features curve around the head on an imaginary circle. these things really depend on the look you are after; sometimes more mythical figures look good "flat" (don't take offense, i mean that in a good way). i noticed your work tends to fall under that category which is great, so if that is what you are intending, you've got it! great composition, i enjoy the colors, though i'd like to see some darks

Kem, wonderful imagery. The flow of your drawing is especially good. Her neck bothers me too, it does seem too heavy for her lithe
figure..but if you change the size of the neck the chin will probably seem more projected than you would want.
