mom and baby horsey help

I am wanting to do this but dont like how the comp is so am moving the colt nearer to mom. What do you think. If anyone has a better idea I am very open to it. I must say I LOVE the marking on mom and wanted to try to keep as much of it as I can. Doesnt it look like a body spread across her?

Laurie

Hey ther Laurie...How about the Mom in front of the baby with most of the baby under her nose..just a thought not covering that much of baby but showing a mom's protectiveness!

Re: mom and baby horsey help

I think either will work. A problem may actually be the perspective of the mare concerning the rise in her body toward the rear. Will you leave that as is or level out the back a bit? It looks like the photographer was kneeling down and the mare was angled away, so her rear really rises up. Maybe you could go with the original photo and crop just past that white marking that you like.

What a cute baby!!

Perhaps you could flip the colt so it is in the same place, but looking back at the mom.

Re: mom and baby horsey help

I like the first photo's composition, but am bothered by the high rump on the mare. She looks like she's walking downhill. This would be pretty easy to fix. I would also be tempted to get rid of the blue door and just have the boards going all the way across. Just a couple things to think about.

I too like the first composition as well. But it will be beautiful whatever you do.
