This is looking good La. Does that stuff always show through the paint? Just one thing though, could you check put the line up of her inner tear ducts.

Re: made in canada

thanks mikey ... tear ducts eh, okay, going for minimum of line but that is a good one to include .. i expect that with enough paint the stamp would cover, not a concern of mine as i rather like it - tho i might put another coat on the background to eliminate it there ... first i've worked on the back side of arborite so it's completely experimental = )

Re: made in canada

I like this picture. It makes me feel some sort of emotion, but I can't place my finger on it. I think maybe the way you did the eyes makes her look like she knows exactly what she wants, yet she looks a little lost. Maybe it's the confusion that is confusing to my emotions. Anyway, I think you did just a wonderful job on this....so much in so little color.

Re: made in canada

Definitely happier - I think she is mesmerizing. I love her ethereal quality but find the background green a little harsh for so delicate a creature. Also, would love to see you pare back the hair a little as I find it overwhelms her. I've done a little digital rework keeping the b/g in the same colour palette - I hope you don't mind. I'm still learning myself, so this is just personal opinion and of course, may be taken with a grain of salt! I do think she's beautiful!

La, I love the girl's face! The second version definitely has more of a feel of innocence and purity. I'd like to see more definition and volume in her lower body. It feels very flat and under-developed in comparison to her face.

I'm so afraid of "rework"......so often we loose as much as we gain....
but then..... if we were unhappy enough to want to rework it....who cares...hahaha
this time....it really "reworked" for you....she is even more lovely that before.....
gotta type that I like chia's background treatment....she almost seems to be "of it"....yd

Re: made in canada

Wow, Chia, Thanks, that looks pretty cool! I do struggle with the hair volume and must find an acceptable happy medium there!

Miranda - agreed! i see i gave her too strong a curve too, will tweak that and get a little more depth too, Thanks

yarddog, yup, it's risky to rework, but alas it sometimes is stellar, well, at least better ... the best ones tend to be the ones i care the least about and this one is an interesting challenge cause i like it!

mooz, thanks, i needed to hear that it's still haunting, i'm trying to really calm that so yeah, i shall study on in hopes of just the right shadow or hilite , 'striking' is great, much like striking

you think so really greensyster!? thanks so much

Corby, banished! excellent, she's a tricky wicket this lass but i'm thrilled that you've classed her into beautiful

babydoll, quite belated thank yous to you too, that's very cool

Wonderful to have your eyes and thoughts everyone, really, Thanks so much

la

Re: made in canada

la, sweet about selling the painting.
Maybe you need to find a gallery with bigger city lights, but then they tend to want a bigger cut of the pie. Then there is that whole transport deal, too.
Big picture, well done on the sale.
