Sheep in Heather

Animals aren't my usual subject matter, but these sheep looked so comical, peering and peeking over the heather, I had to have a go. I have it hanging in my knitting corner... Pastel on Ersta paper 17 x 30

Re: Sheep in Heather

Wow the sheep do look funny the low point of view really helps with that. I agree I think that you handled the heather really well.

Re: Sheep in Heather

Thank you, everyone, for your compliments. I enjoyed doing this painting very much. Trying to achieve a woolly texture was a new challenge.

I used Rowney's for the entire painting. Pansy violet and reddish purple tints for the heather, with olive green tints for the foliage.
