Re: untitled

Looks more like watercolor than oil pastel. Nice mood and atmosphere. The creek feels like it's on an angle which makes me feel uneasy. This probably wasn't intended, but I think it adds a great deal of interest.

Re: untitled

I like the color scheme and the general value scale.
I hope you dont mind me suggesting a few things for future reference. I DO like your painting and please ignore me if you disagree,
I do feel it would benefit from a few darker accents here and there. Just to give some "boost" to those trees and the foreground.
Some of the trees seem to be equally divided in spacing and in angle, wich gives it a bit uneasy mathematical look into them.
Foregrounds scale could be easier to comprehend if there were a few details, like grass or branch. Maybe the darkest accents could occur here. Just to bring it closer to the viewer.

Cheers!

Re: untitled

Although some good tips from V-A, I disagree with them, ... hehehe
I like the soft feeling and atmosphere it got over the entire work.
To put some darker accents in it to "boost" it, could be a shame
you would loose the eerie feel it got now, I would go even further
to tone down the rivers end so that it more or less would become
in same value as the rivershore at the end, this way the shade
on the banks would lead your eyes back into the painting up to
the trees again, and this would gave them some extra focus.

My penny.
