Smile Drinking and Thinking

Here I sit in the Cafe Guerbois waiting for my Artist friends so we can discuss the latest projects. I have so many now, and I am going to add another.

I have a friend that wants me to tackle a garden scene. (photo follows) I think I want to take a little artistic license and add in some Azaleas in the background. I think that this would give the painting some much needed color. How would you tackle this?

Cool

Hi,
enjoyed the chat, thanks.
I think I would leave the background defocused , focus point is the statue. The eye must be drawn here and not distracted,
Rod.

Rod: Yes, as usual you are right. I am going to work on this today. It is raining here and a good day to stay inside. My art group meets tomorrow morning and I would like to have a new challenge to present. Although, they might be more impressed if I actually finished something. lol
I look forward to seeing what you come up with using the garden scene with watercolors.
I am so glad that we had the opportunity to chat in the wetchat room last night. I hope that others will follow. Paul sent me an email to check and see if he got the address correct. I think he would also like to come to the chat room. I know when your holidays are over it is going to be difficult for you to catch us since we are on different time zones, but maybe we can work it out.

Let this message be an open invitation to all interested to come to the chat room and discuss matters at hand. I give it 4 smiley faces for really great chat. Perhaps others could post times they are available Eastern Time and we could set it up then.
