Evening sail-some adjustments

I did some work on this painting. I separated the 2 back boats and changed the direction of the large second boat. I added a tad of green and ultramarine to the start of the water. All comments are appreciated. Do you feel that the back boat leads you out of the painting? Thanks.

I really like the two front boats. I like the soft effect of the whole piece. I can't really tell which way the back boat is pointing. I realize from your question it is pointing out. Perhaps, you could put a back end on it, like the center boat, and have it point in the same general direction.

Hi Arlene!

This looks better each time I see it! I like the back boat much better now that it's separated just a tad from the center one. The additional hints of water color look great too! In addition to Linda's suggestion, you might also look at the direction of the boats' shadows so that all agree with the direction of light.

Looking forward to seeing the final on this one; I think you're very close!

Elizabeth

Thanks Elizabeth. I will look again at the shadows to ensure that all are in the direction of the evening light.

I love the overall smooth and relaxed feel to this...colors are great! I agree with the others though, the boat in the back should stand out a bit better. Other than that, great job!
