Lots of very nice and interesting color .. like the loose approach .. works well. I do find the sky dark for a day at the beach.

Painting a thousand people on the beach in plein air is enough challenge for anybody, Dan! Good job.

Someone else may have tried to get each and everyone of them perfect (and ruined the painting in the process!) But I like the fact that you used color almost abstractly to portray a busy scene rather than trying to realize the individual forms.

It has a fresh approach!

Hails from Canada
hi
Thanks for remarks I find the cloudless sky in summer flat and without much interest so am now trying to inject some movement into it by painting the sky as loose as my subject
regards
Dan

I love how the sky was done .. what makes it dark is the choice of paper .. I was given a set of pastels and was ready to throw them out but now I see how you have handled them and I think I'll give them another chance. That is amazing how you handled the sky as well as the rest of the piece.

Thumbs up

Wow! I really love the lively loose strokes of color that you used to suggest the people and forms in this piece. It just sings! Thanks for posting it. My husband and I so enjoyed seeing it.

The people are just super-- reminds me of Monet's crowd scenes.

Don,

Terrific piece!!!

The colors are fantastic & the crowd/umbrellas work great.

Thanks

Keep painting (outdoors),

Frank
